This album was born out of Blueshift remixing an ambient work by Skin Vehicles. The remix got them both thinking that the new version told a story, or at least part of a story. It sounded like the end of the world. So they sent back and forth some more tracks,

Part One – Kali and the Psychonauts Battle the Evil Robots of Love.

Track One: Astronaughty - A room full of Nasa Scientists are listening in to sounds coming from space. There is a blip on the radar and weird sounds coming through the speakers. Something is approaching Earth. It’s a ship and it is huge, as big as a continent.

The worlds Leaders meet to discuss what to do. The ship hovers close to the moon. What are they doing? Do they come in peace? Or to slaughter us all?

A Space shuttle with astronauts from America, Russia, India and China.

Aboard the shuttle the astronauts nervously look towards the huge ship in front of them a dark foreboding black shape in front of the moon.

As they approach a small white glow of light opens up in the centre of the dark shape.

The speakers on the intercom is filed with a noise. The sound is a harmonious sound, like a voice sending love

The same sound is picked up by the scientists on earth.

One of the astronauts says, it sounds like an Angel. I think they are sending love.

Scientists look relieved.

Screens across the world are showing the shuttle and the shape in the distance and the sound is so powerful people on earth can all hear, like a siren song.

People embrace and cheer. Excitedly.

A smaller shape leaves the spaceship approaches the shuttle, it is vast in size and dwarfs the shuttle. It is biped shaped. A head two glowing blue eyes in the centre of the head a wide robotic smile and it almost walks through space. Its arms extended out.

It stops a small distance from the shuttle,

The astronauts think this means the Robot wants them to go to the robot. A few of the astronauts put on suits and leave the ship heading towards the robot.

As they approach the robots comes alive and lets out a beautiful song, it sounds like ‘we love you’

The robot moves towards the astronauts. The astronauts look hypnotised by the sounds they cut the wires connecting them to the shuttle and with their arms extended float towards the robot

The robot plucks the astronauts in the palm of a hand and crush them to its chest.

There are screams on the shuttle and on earth.

The robot looks towards the shuttle and reaches out. Grabs the shuttle and crushes it to its chest. The sounds of harmony still ring out as the shuttle explodes.

The robot looks down on earth in the distance more robots are leaving the spaceship and heading towards earth.

Track Two: Pianoblaster - The scientists at Nasa pick up another sound as the robots approach earth.
It sounds like music but chaotic. They try to tune it to suit human instruments and play it across the airwaves. Is it the aliens trying to talk to us?

Was it a mistake did they think we were attacking them? The world is in confusion as the dark shapes descend across the world.
The robots all appear across cities in the world. The song of love hypnotises people they stand still staring upwards. Trapped by the signal.

Scientists realise the sound is a perfect pitch to control humans minds. The harmony makes humans stand still look up and wait. The humans gather up together crammed together in open spaces.

The robots either crush the humans beneath their feet or shoot lasers from their eyes wiping out thousands of people.

There is devastation everywhere.


Track Three: Kali Battles the Robots of Love - India and China have worked together to create a huge robot of its own. The call it Kali
(Kali (/ˈkɑːliː/, Sanskrit: काली, IAST: Kālī), also known as Kālikā (Sanskrit: कालिका) or Shyāmā (Sanskrit: श्यामा), is a Hindu goddess. Kali is the chief of the Mahavidyas, a group of ten Tantric goddesses. Kali's earliest appearance is that of a destroyer of evil forces.

Kali is released and attacks the robot above India and destroys it. Ripping apart the robot, holding its head high.

There is jubilation below as people wake up from the spell they were under by the robot, not knowing where they are. The images are screened across the world as it is shown on the News.

Humanity fights back.

The robots all stop blasting out the sounds and people begin to come from under the spell, ten robots all fly towards India to battle Kali.

Kali stand above the Indian landscape. Waiting, the world looks on. The first robot comes in fast and Kali slices straight through it. And it crashes to the ground. Two attack at the same time one removing one of her four arms. Kali turns and attacks that robot, cutting off its head, as the second robot grabs from behind. All the robots descend on her. Ripping her apart Kali screams as she is ripped apart. A robot stand up with the head of Kali held above its head.

The robots all rise up as one and fly back to the countries they were originally stood and begin sending the message out again. People begin to flock in squares.

The scientists and American government look on in horror. They are in a soundproofed room. One of the scientists in Nasa points at the screen.

Some humans are not affected. They look around bewildered at the people like zombies flocking together. Some try to stop them others just walk or run away.

They discover that. Some people are immune to the robots hypnotising call. People who suffer from psychosis or who do not have the capacity for love.

Across the world a call for pilots who are immune from love is put out. Thousands of pilots across the world are given fighter planes to battle the robots.

Track Four: Send in the Psychonauts! - The Psychonauts as they have been named attack the robots, they fight with no fear, aggressive and happily sacrifice themselves to try and stop the robots.

The battle rages on for days, weeks. Until the last of the Psychonauts is knocked out from the sky, the world leaders look on in fear its over there is nothing left to throw at them.


Track Five: Fractured Armageddon – The world is destroyed country by country, cities raised to the ground, all there is are screams and explosions. Its over.

Track 6: I kissed you for the last time as the world burned – The camera travels across the globe, everywhere there is devastation. There is nothing left. Everything mankind has achieved. Created is destroyed and flattened.

Track 7: Down Echo Kave Sinewave – The camera settles on a cave in Scotland in the Highlands, a robot has fallen there, and a small group of survivors are huddled around it. A scientist and one of the Psychonauts a woman, and three men from the local area are the only survivors. They manage to change the robots programming the robot tells them that they are programmed to destroy worlds that look like they are on the precipice of space travel. That may be a danger to other lives across the universe. The robot tells them that the Earth will be blown up once the robots leave. they smuggle themselves inside the robot and the robot travels out of the orbit of Earth and towards the Spaceship.
